Women's Health
Health Point Clinic aims to support women via an integrated approach through every life stage, offering acupuncture for women with gynaecological, fertility and pregnancy related issues as well as other supporting therapies.
Many women are instinctively aware that emotional difficulties can impact on physical problems and vice versa. When diagnosing your state of health and developing the correct treatment approach for you it is important to take this into account.
Your treatment plan
After a thorough medical history and examination procedure treatment needs to address the underlying causes and any exacerbating factors. We work closely with each patient, observes where their disharmony exists and then provide a complete package of care according to the patient’s individual needs. Each patient’s personal experience of her health is central to diagnosis.
With an integrated approach to women’s health, Health Point Clinic aims to provide support at every stage of life, to improve health without the need for medication and where this is not possible, help support you through your medical treatments.
Acupuncture
Certain acupuncture points have been shown to affect areas of the brain that are known to reduce sensitivity to pain and stress, as well as promoting relaxation and deactivating the ‘analytical’ brain, which is responsible for anxiety (1). Acupuncture stimulates the nervous system and aids the release of neurochemical messenger molecules. The resulting biochemical changes influence the body's homeostatic mechanisms, thus promoting physical and emotional wellbeing. (1) If you have any concerns please arrange to see your GP.
Massage
A combination of bodywork such as tui na, acupressure, massage, reflexology, relaxation, breathing and mindful awareness exercises are also a core strategy that has proven helpful for many people.
Other Lifestyle factors - Creating restful sleep patterns, making sure you have the right diet, nutrients and nourishing eating habits are also key, as well as addressing any emotional issues that may be involved.
